Delhi Public School, Srinagar is a co-educational senior secondary school in the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir state, India. Established on March 10, 2003, the school is affiliated with the Delhi Public School Society and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) .〔(About us )〕 ==History== An idea to start a school came in 1988. It was necessitated by the fact that Jammu and Kashmir was the first state in the country which declared education free and compulsory for all, in 1951 by the then Prime Minister Late Janaab Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. Having got the backing of an experienced name, the members of the trust approached the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to put up the first private school affiliated to the CBSE in the valley.
